like we're kids again

Our Christmas celebrations started yesterday with a short trip to Columbus where we received the tent and cooler we asked for. Since our October camping excursion we have been investigating other places to visit and making our list of necessities. (For our first trip we rented a tent, borrowed a cooler and just took whatever bedding we could pull together from the house.) With a tent & cooler out of the way the only need remaining was a sleeping bag for me and we couldn't pass up stopping by REI on the way home. We found a great bag - low temp rating, good color and on closeout sale! It was little strange trying out bags in the middle of the floor with people shopping all around but since it's a well known must-do there wasn't any weird looks. We did not get home until 10 pm but first thing this morning we bundled up and did a practice set-up, including me trying out the sleeping bag in the garage. That's what made me feel like a kid again - having a toy you just can't with to play with. Now we're looking South to see where we can go camping in the near future. Only somewhere in FL will work in Jan/Feb.
Hope Santa treats everyone to a special gift this year.  Merry Christmas!
